- The coalition of Design and Arts
- In Taiwan, many universities and colleges establish, Design College or Arts College. Only Da-Yeh University has the School of Design and Arts. The primary purposes of our education are to combine design and arts.
- School of Design and Arts have Department of Industrial Design, Department of Visual Communication Design, Department of Spatial Design and Department of Plastic Arts.
- The former three Departments are the extension of applied arts and the Department of Plastic Arts then provides the esthetic foundation to the students enrolled in these programs.
- Whichever department students are in this school, they are able to learn course and works provided in other departments. Students are able to expand their vision and in contact with special sectors.
- Undergraduate Study
- College of Design and Arts at Da-Yeh University has four departments for undergraduate study:
- 1.Industrial Design, 2.Spatial Design, 3.Visual Communication Design and 4.Plastic Arts.
- Each department has its own special discipline in their own field, and this college purposely arranged these four fields together in on college and in the same building. The advantage of this concept to consist design and art in one school is to provide mutual fundamental discipline for all design-art students; this is similar as Bauhaus in the past, and on the other hand this is for students they were enrolled in one department but have opportunities to take courses in other departments and seek a co-major in other field. This arrangement provides students have possibilities with wider knowledge and skills for them to have stronger ability in applying work in their future.
- Our college arranged art and design together in the same college had been unique in Taiwan but now many colleges follow this idea.
- Graduate Study
- This college also has a graduate school for four Master’s programs, to seek advanced study in each field, the graduate programs are1. Industrial design, 2.Spatial Design, 3.Plastic Arts and 4.Cultural Industry.
- Diverse teachers
- Our faculty members graduate form the UK, the USA, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Japan, Belgium and we have employed well-known experts form abroad to teach in our school. The students are able to learn design, arts artistic and kinds of the professional knowledge form different teachers. We hope students are able to create the style of confaience thereby.
- Abundant equipments
- This school has established to have various plants (carpentry plant, oil-soil plant…etc.), workshop (ceramic workshop, metal workshop, weave workshop…etc.) and laboratory (various computer laboratory, multi-media laboratory , humanity factor construction laboratory…etc.). Each department takes care of school equipments and all students can use all of the equipments. The above equipment management can increase the ratio that equipments used and allow of students come in contact with the every kind of equipments and learn various technical competent.
- Elegant environment
- The corridors in the school are the places that works displayed because of the elegant and beautiful environment of design and arts. The primary significance of work displays is to allow students to observe and learn other students’ works. Works display also allows our teachers and students to live and be engaged in the artistic environment. Finally, the works display from each department mutual appreciation can stimulate students’ relativity.
