In responding to the needs posed by the ever-increasing environmental pollution, the Department of Environmental Engineering was founded in 1992. The undergraduate program aims at training students in basic theories for design and analysis.
Due to the growing complexity, in 1997 the department offers students accredited majors in “environmental management “, ”environmental engineering”, and “environmental analysis.
In order to enhance the Specialties in environmental technique, the accredited majors are reformed as “municipal division“ and “industrial division“ meanwhile the number of enrollments doubled. In 2003, the specialties were extended into four areas as (industrial pollution division, municipal pollution division, industrial hygiene and safety division, environmental planning and management division.
