Department of Architecture and Interior Design
Education Goals

To enable students to acquire skills in spatial planning on any scale and to allow them to become professional 3D spatial designers. To achieve this, students are often required to practice design.

¢¹¡BDesign Studies Development

  1. Theory acquisition: in order to become good designers and to cope with various spaces, functional regrouping, and spatial characteristics and forms exploration are emphasized.
  2. Synthetic spatial design development: urban, commercial, public and exhibition spaces are ?significant aspects.
  3. Improving culture and living quality/ standards.
  4. Providing the best professional standards.

¢º¡BCommunity Service :

  1. Working with the ¡§Further Education¡¨ office.
  2. Offering spatial design courses to mature students and professional who wish to retrain and learn something new.
  3. Improving culture and living quality/ standards.
  4. Providing the best professional standards.

¢»¡BDepartment Special Features?

Traditionally, space has been understood through Architectural & Interior Design. More recently, scholars have developed modern art theory, thus creating a whole new direction. In view of this, several special features of the Spatial Design Department are listed below.

  • In accordance with Fine Arts, students are encouraged to present creative and imaginative designs.
  • Students in Spatial Design combine theory and practice throughout the program.
  • Computer drawing skills are emphasized in order that students can work on actual design projects.
  • Professional abilities development by exposure to culture and society is a focal point, as is cooperation and management abilities development.
  • Seek an industrial cooperation so as to achieve success in both education and industry.
  • In the Design Institute, knowledge and skill are combined, with the help of each department in order to achieve Design¡¦s greatest ideal.

¢¼¡BSynopsis

  1. Architectural Design Group :Although architectural design is only a part of spatial design,
It not only connects the acquisition of design skills but also and more importantly the observation and understanding of our social environment.
However, architectural design develops thoughts on conditions and phenomena that enhance design possibilities. Finally, the architectural design group incorporates other course materials together, such as¡GComputer-drawing(2D,3D,3D-model),Lighting design ,Detailed Structure,Construction & Price estimation, to connect theory and practice .
  2. Interior / Exhibitional Design Group :To further the SD studies, students are introduced to smaller scales, closer to human scale, and start organizing and planning Interior Space. Furthermore linking and transforming relations between inside and outside, as well as studying materials, structures must also cultivate organizational and systematical designs. Moreover, students should combine various exhibitional space design techniques together such as, construction, structure, lightings, as well as analysis activities within exhibitional spaces. Finally, they must combine and plan design.
  3. Environmental Design Group :As space has various scales and characteristics, we should use different standards when progressing in design planning.
On a large scale, there are countries and territories. On a smaller scale, there is landscape planning for residential front gardens or back yards, to create a more pleasant environment. As society, traffic, industry, consumption, entertainment and the ecosystem affect the environment, many topics are Studied. Throughout the duration of their course, students must combine required and optional courses, and then get much repeated practice. Furthermore, they are encouraged to observe their surroundings in order to best enhance their environmental designs.
